NICHOLAS JOSEPH LIBBY On Sunday, August 19, 2007, at St. Boniface Hospital our loving father, grandfather, Nick Libby, aged 88 years, passed away suddenly of a massive heart attack. Nick leaves to mourn his children, Wayne, wife Linda, daughter Donna, husband Tim Kitkowski, son Brian, wife Lori, and his grandchildren, Dean, Dayna, Chad (Caitlin), Mindie (Chadwick) and Jessica. Nick was predeceased by his wife Mary, son Larry, grandson Darryl, his mother, father, three brothers and four sisters. Nick was born in Fraserwood, Manitoba, on March 1, 1919. His family will always remember him as a devoted husband, father and grandfather who always gave much of himself to his family. Dad's family was his life - he always let each and everyone of us know how proud he was of us. Dad was a pillar of strength, he lived and set a good example of dedication in everything he did. We will always miss Dad's endless sense of humour, which he displayed until the end. Dad left school at an early age to help his family during the depression. He joined the armed forces during the Second World War, serving as a Lt. Colonel. Dad married mom in 1944. When he left the armed forces in 1945 he worked at Eaton's where he acquired his tailoring skills. He was in charge of making the costumes for the Santa Claus parade. After leaving Eaton's he took up the drycleaning profession, where he owned and operated his own Perth's franchise until his retirement. Dad and mom spent many years travelling, including many winters at their home in Florida. Dad was a member, social convenor and president at McBeth House. His last few years he resided at The Carriage House, where he spent many enjoyable hours with his newfound friends. Our family would like to thank the staff of E2 at the St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion during dad's final hours. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 23 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., with Rev. Fr. Isadore Dziadyk officiating. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Dean, Chad, Mindie, Jessica, Chadwick and nephew Gord Lischynski. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nick's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. We will always remember the way you looked, the way you walked and smiled, All the things you did for us, will be with us all the while. You always did your best, your heart was true and tender, You lived your life for those you loved, and those you loved will remember. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
