ROBERT (BOB) SYLVESTRE Surrounded by the love of his family, Robert (Bob) Sylvestre passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at the age of 75 years, after a courageous struggle with Parkinson's. Bob's memory will be forever cherished by his loving wife Joyce of 49 years of marriage; his children Lisa (Arcel), Todd (Darlene) and Shauna (Jeremy). Grandpa will be deeply missed by his eight grandchildren; Nicholas, Dominic, Michelle, Eileen, Alex, Dylan, Levi, and Rya who were his pride and joy. Also lovingly remembered by his brother Marcel (Verna), sisters, Stella and Claudette (Al); and a close family of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Dad was born on December 27, 1933 to Simone and Alphonse Sylvestre in Bellegarde, SK. Later moving to Fannystelle, MB and finally residing in Winnipeg. He was a loyal CP Rail employee for 35 years. His career as an Internal Auditor took him to many cities and small towns across Canada. Transferring to Calgary, Winnipeg, Regina, retiring in Montreal and finally returning home to Winnipeg in 1990. Dad was a dedicated family man, proud supporter and fan of all his grandchildren's activities. He enjoyed bowling, curling, golfing, and baseball. However, his greatest passion was cheering for the Habs, Dodgers, and Bombers. We would like to thank Dr. M. L. Cummings and our homecare team for their many years of caring for dad; Dr. Pacin; the nursing staff of Unit 5 South and the Pastoral Care Team who took such wonderful care of dad and our family while at the Victoria General Hospital. A special thank you to Monseigneur Goulet, Father Morand, and Father Gerry Ward for their prayers and blessings. To our family, friends, and neighbours, especially Jim and Karen, for always being there. We are truly grateful. Cremation has taken place, a memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 2, 2009 at St. Timothy's Parish, 135 John Forsyth Rd., Winnipeg, MB with Father Fred Olds presiding. Interment to take place in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Lawn Reception Centre, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson Society of Manitoba or a charity of one's choice. Those we love deeply become part of our heart. We now have an angel to walk with us. Love you Dad. GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 982-7550
