PATRICIA GWENDOLYN ROSTESKI (SHOTTON) 1946 - 2011 It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Pat, our Mom, daughter, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully with her sister by her side on Friday, June 24, 2011 at the age of 64. Pat was predeceased by her infant son Edward, husband Ed, and dad Phillip. Left to mourn Pat's passing are daughter Tanis (David) Langille, sons Darcy and Carman (Jenn), grandchildren Darlene, Edward, Amelia and Ava, great-grandchildren James and Carmen, mother Aileen Shotton, brother Phillip (Carol) Shotton, sisters, Heather (Rick) Glaser, Judy Hooper, and Debbie (Ted) Halverson as well as numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. Pat was born in Flin Flon in September 1946 and married Ed, her husband of 41 years, on August 20, 1965. They lived in Thompson, MB and Prince Rupert, BC eventually settling in Winnipeg where they resided for the past 25 years. Pat worked in various capacities from waitressing and bartending to driving for a courier company. She was a hard worker and took pride in her home. She enjoyed cooking and was very good at it. Forming a love of music at a very young age, she became an accomplished piano, organ and accordion player. She loved entertaining people with her music, often playing at her Mom's personal care home. She will be greatly missed by the residents who were always thrilled to see her walk through the front doors. In recent years she shared her home with her much-loved cats, Casper and Magnum. Pat is now reunited with her beloved husband Ed. She will remain in our hearts and memories forever. In keeping with Pat's wishes, cremation has taken place and the family will celebrate her life privately. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, RM ON1160, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3E 0V9, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3L 0K6, the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3T 9Z9 or a charity of one's choice.
