FRIEDRICH (FRITZ) JOHANN WEISS (Papa) September 4, 1934 December 2, 2011 With great sadness we announce the passing of our papa, opa, brother and uncle. Fritz passed away on December 2, 2011, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Kirschlag, Neider Osterreich (Austria), Fritz came to Canada in 1954. A Master Cabinet Maker by trade for over 55 years, he made his home in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was predeceased by his father, Stefan Weiss, and brother Joseph Weiss. He is survived by his beloved friend, Erna and children Bernard, Gerhard, Monika, and Anita; grandchildren, Jammal, Brigitta, Graeme, Aerielle, Coralese, Hayden, Jeremy, Rayna, Layton, Leah, Alexander and Alexandra; his nephews, Stefan, Gordon, Andi and Leonard; and nieces, Sylvia, Eileen, Brigitta, Kathy, and Kristina. He will be sadly missed by all his friends. He touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity, and maintained his quiet sense of humour all the way to the end. Fritz was loved and respected by all. He cherished Texas and Barrier Bay and never refused to play a game of Schnapsen or Crib until he could play no more. We love you and our hearts will ache forever! We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff at Grace Hospital, Misericordia Health Centre and Maples Personal Care Home, who took such wonderful care of our papa. We are truly grateful for all the love and support provided. A Funeral Service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba on Thursday, December 8, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in St. Vital Cemetery.
