- Heather took on the role as being a Neighbourhood Watch Co-Captain in the spring of 2007. As a deep-rooted community minded person she has encouraged neighbours to know each other, to share concerns, issues, ideas and solutions. Most of all she recognized the importance of “taking back” her community. A kind and gentle person – she will be missed. Condolences to her family and friends. Rest in Peace. - Posted by: Heather Smithson (Winnipeg Polilce Neighbourhood Watch Crime Prevention Clerk) on: Feb 3, 2012 - With a heavy heart, I type this message to acknowlege the loss of my dearest friend Heather. She was more like a sister than a friend, sharing her mother and her daughter with me. For the most part life is good, but there are times when it just plain sucks and this is one of those times. I will kiss the little one for you Heather. Love always. Debby

When I came home to visit from where ever I was living at the time I always went over for tea and we would chat for hours. Heather was a warm and loving person who loved life to the fullest. I’ll miss her daily emails, her humor and charm but most of all I will miss her.
Dana your Mom may have been my sister’s age but I loved her as if she were mine. My heart goes out to you and all those who had the absolute pleasure of knowing her.
Love Cheryl
