GLORIA SYLVA BURKETT (nee SWANSON) April 21, 1927 January 27, 2012 It is with profound sadness the family announces the passing of our amazing mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Friday, January 27, 2012 with her family at her side. Gloria was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Leonard, in 2007. Left to cherish her memory are her sister Mona McLachlan, brother Terry (Trudene), sons Ron (Marilyn), Randy (Janet), Gary (Cindy), her grandchildren, Amber (Matthew), Tiiu, (Scott), Jeff, Kevin, Kyle, Kira, Christine (Steve) Steven, her great-grandchildren Bryce, Brett, Syndle and Nicholas, sister-in-law Dora and daughter-in-law Marguerite (John). Mom was a warm and loving woman passionately devoted to her family. She made many new friends at Devonshire House. She loved baking, going to bingo, playing on her iPad and going to the casino with her sister. To honour Mom's wishes there will be no funeral service. A get-together will be held for family at a later date. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in Gloria's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 673 McDermot Ave, R3E 0V9.
