HELEN DUECK (nee FLEMING) It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Helen Dueck on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at the age of 73 years. Helen was predeceased by her brothers Peter and Abe, and her sisters Tina and Annie. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Peter, two sons, Brian and Calvin, daughters-in-law Bev and Dianne, her five grandchildren, Tabitha, Kristine, Marlaya, Colbi, and Peter as well as many nephews, nieces, and other family and friends. Helen was born in Horndean in 1938. She married Peter on July 14, 1957 and had two sons. Helen and Peter moved to Winnipeg that same year and then in 1969 they bought their house in Crestview where they resided for 43 years. She loved to garden and was often working outside with Peter either at their home or at both their sons' homes. Helen was a hard worker and always made sure that her home and yard were in perfect condition. She also loved to bake and do canning. She often had her family over for dinners and would make her specialty rollkuchen every summer for them. Helen was always there to listen and offer help and advice. She was very proud of her family and loved to share stories of them to others. Helen was a strong woman and battled having cancer for a year and a half. She will be incredibly missed by many. Thanks to Grace Hospital staff, including Dr. Harris and Dr. Inglis. Also, a sincere thank you to the third floor staff at Oakview Care Home.
