MARIA BORGES

MARIA JOSE ALMEIDA BORGES March 19, 1947 - February 2, 2012 After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Maria was called home to be with the Lord, and her daughter Hilda. Maria was 64 years of age. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 43 years, Artur, her beloved son David and wife Lana, and the sunshine of her life her granddaughter Livia. Maria will also be missed by her sisters Matilde, Clotilde (Joe), Dora (John), brother Adriano (Teresa), many nephews, nieces, family and friends. Maria immigrated to Winnipeg from Azores, Portugal in the late 1960s where she made a loving home for her family. Many memories were made over at Maria's with her many wonderful dinners with family and friends. Maria's greatest accomplishment in life was raising her son David. Rest in Peace Mom/Vovo Many thanks to Dr. Fatoye and his angels in the Oncology Department at Seven Oaks, for their kindness and compassion during this difficult time. Prayers will be held on Monday, February 6, 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 7, 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 4588 Roblin Blvd., with Rev. Msgr. Maurice Comeault, P.H. Entombment at Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue West. Cropo Funeral Chapel 586-8044

  • I still can't believe that my Mom is gone..I already miss her so much! I keep thinking that I can call the house and she will still answer the phone. Please watch over us now, Mom - we'll never forget you.
