BILLIE W. HEINTZ 1927 - 2012 It is with sadness and loving memories that we announce the passing of Billie on March 4, 2012 at Riverview Medical Centre. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Sheila, step-children Janice, Colleen (Tom), Ross (Karen), David and many dear step- grandchildren. Billie was predeceased by his first wife Rae and leaves to mourn their children Susan, Brian, Sandra, Bruce, Barbara, Barry and many grandchildren. Billie served as a Winnipeg Police Officer for 34 years and rose to the rank of Staff Inspector. He also served 20 years on the Board of Directors for the Winnipeg Police Credit Union and was a valued supported of Big Brothers of Winnipeg. Billie was a good natured man and known for his great sense of humour and contagious smile. He loved his new family and the many friends he met through the church, while dancing at the Vasa Lund with his beloved Sheila, playing cards at the East St. Paul Senior Centre and attending the retired police breakfasts. Billie enjoyed his beautiful home in East St. Paul especially the sunroom which he and Sheila had built. Many good times were spent enjoying the sunshine and barbequing in his backyard. Billie often commented on how much he appreciated his stepson, Ross, and how he looked forward to their many visits at Riverview. Ross's encouragement and kindness meant so much to Billie and he enjoyed when the two of them swapped old stories of their work with the Police Service. Together we would like to thank all of our family and friends for their constant support. A special thanks to all the staff of the Riverview Medical Centre for their constant and compassionate care of Billie in his time of need and to the many friends that Billie made while at Riverview. A celebration of Billie's life will be held Tuesday, March 13, 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home located at 4477 Main St. with a reception to follow. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers a donation may be made to The Diabetes Association, 200 - 310 Broadway or The Riverview Medical Centre Foundation, #1 Morley Ave. Billie we loved you for all your special qualities that made you One of a Kind .
