• When I think of Brian, my heart is flooded with a mix of emotions- wonderful memories accompanied with sadness of his going too soon. Always content with the simple things of life. Always giving, loving, kind, thoughtful, generous and hardworking. A man of faithfulness and loyalty to his friends and family. Whenever I was in town, he always made time to reconnect. He was a passionate man- he loved sourdough bread, surplus stores, travel, and people. He had a knack of making a person feel like they were a significant part of his life. He was a gift to my life and after reading so many tributes, he was a gift to us all. Nicole, Shannon, Dana, my heart goes out to you. Remember, this is not the end, he is just gone from our sight for now. Love you, Aunty Faye

• The first time I met Brian I remember being taken back by his warmth, kindness and friendliness. A truly gentle giant. He was so lovely to be around that you could not help but love him instantly. His smile and laugh drew us all together and I looked forward to seeing him and his family whenever we were in town. I much valued his zest for life and living every moment with such happiness. He continues to inspire me and appreciate this wonderful thing we call life. Thank you Brian for all the wonderful memories and for being who you were. All of my love goes to his family and friends.

• Brian was my first love and we had a beautiful wedding in 1968 at St. Clement's Church in Selkirk . Our daughters were the highlight of our lives and our families and friends. Sad times and youthful challenges came but love lives on in our hearts and he always had enough to go around. I feel so sad for his wonderful partner and love, Dana; our children Shannon, Nicole and granddaughter Charissa. Brian's last words to me were a tribute, and I am so grateful for that. • Brian was a gentle soul, I have fond memories of him during our get together's with Nicole and Charissa. One of my favourite memories is Brian bringing potato chips to my daugther Felicia for her birthday when she was little as she was crazy for them. My sincere sympathy to all of Brian's family and loved ones.

• I am so sorry to read about Brian. I met Brian when he was married to Donna. I used to date Donna's sister Janet. Janet and I would often baby sit Shannon when Brian and Donna lived on Jefferson and Cathedral. Brian was always a gentle man and full of laughter and knowledge. I have fond memories of Brian giving me his car to drive Jan home from baby sitting and meeting Jan at the lake. Thank you Brian for all the girl advice you gave me. • Dear Dana, Nicole, Charissa, Shannon and family My love and prayers are with you. I often told Brian (Dad) he was my brother from another mother. In the almost ten years we worked together I can say we were more than just friends, we became family. Big brother to me and Uncle Brian to my girls. No too long ago my daughter Jessie was bragging how Uncle Brian would bake a huge cookie for her and her sister's birthdays and a huge hug from him to go with it. • I met Brian when he started to date Donna. We were young parents together and my 45 year old daughter Kim still remembers the chubby cheek pinching, and also being always called Kimmy right to the last say saw him. Keith and I had the pleasure of seeing him off and on when he visited Gimli and it was always like the friendship always just picked right up again with that big bear hug. • Disbelief, shock and over-whelming sadness are the emotions felt upon hearing of Brian's passing. We worked with Brian in the late 1960's at the Salisbury House Commissary. Ron and Brian became good friends and they always seemed to be able to pick up and resume that closeness no matter if they had not seen each other for a while. Brian's sense of humour and crazy pranks always kept us laughing. He will be dearly missed. Dana, Shannon, Niki and families, please accept our heartfelt sympathy. We all grieve with you. • I met Brian when he came to live with me and my family in Winnipeg at the top of a house on the corner of Selkirk Avenue and McPhillips Street. Brian's Dad worked at the Weston yards then. Brian and I, my kids and husband became good friends. When his Dad died, Brian kept in touch, and we attended his wedding to Donna. He was such a gem. • As a kid Uncle Br-Br-Brian had the toughest cheek pinchers. As an adult I knew that he always had warm, strong hugs, deep laughs and kind words. He will be greatly missed.

• The big guy Love the picture of young Brian. Behind his powerful frame there was always a 6-year-old boy smiling back to you, this picture captures Brian perfectly. Brian’s family and friendships meant the world to him, and he had a special place in his heart for the little rascals. Brian made us laugh and see the beauty in the world, but he would never accept praise or want credit for the special human being he was. He has enriched my life and the lives of everyone around him.
