ERIC PACHECO MIRANDA 1936 - 2012 Peacefully surrounded by family, Eric passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2012 at St. Boniface Hospital. Survived by his loving wife, Nelia, children: Dennis (Maridel), Philipp (Rose), Jeric (Nanette), Hazel (Ronnie); grandchildren: Deeandra, Ryan (Jill), Roderick, Raiden, Matthew, Megan, Marcus, Madison, and great-granddaughter Sophie Rose. Predeceased by his son Noel, parents, Bartolome and Josefa, sister Clarita, and brothers, Pepito, Manolo, and Luis. Eric was married to his wife for 53 years. He immigrated to Canada in 1975 from the Philippines. He quickly developed an outstanding work ethic which carried throughout the rest of his life and became the underlying ethos of his character. There was no job too big or small. His main purpose in life was to provide for his family. He was a tower of strength to his family and friends. He was particularly proud of his role as Lolo to his eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Not only was he a colleague, friend, confidante, uncle, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, father and husband; he was a mentor and father figure, who deeply touched the heart and soul of the people he came in contact with and will be forever loved and missed. Thank you to the Health Sciences Centre and St. Boniface Palliative Care for their care and compassion. Lamay will be held on Friday, June 22 from 6:00 p.m. until 12:00 midnight with prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, June 23 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Parish Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue with Oblate Father.
