DANIEL DA COSTA MARQUES November 26, 1949 June 24, 2012 After a brave and courageous struggle, Daniel peacefully passed away on June 24, 2012 at St. Boniface Hospital surrounded by close family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife Dolores; two daughters Annabella (Pavel) and Olga (Joel); grandchildren Hailey, Makaila and Myla; siblings José (Carma), Trindade (Luis), Jaime (Carma), Maria José (Joao); and several nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was predeceased by his father Antonio Luis Marques and mother Maria dos Prazeres Loureira da Costa. The family would like to offer a heartfelt thanks to the many doctors and nurses of Health Sciences Centre and St. Boniface Hospital for their continued care and support. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Michelle Brown who generously donated her bone marrow during Daniel's battle with leukemia. Without her selflessness and courage we would not have had the opportunity to share so many more memories with Daniel. He was actively involved in the Portuguese community, volunteering much of his time for several years to the Portuguese Association of Manitoba. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, June 27 at 7:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at Inkster. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 28 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 4588 Roblin Boulevard with Rev. Msgr. Maurice Comeault, P.H. as Celebrant. Interment to follow in Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honour of Daniel, to CancerCare Manitoba, 1160 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB. Daniel was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be remembered most for his generosity, compassion, and the strong and absolute devotion he offered his family throughout his life. 586-8044

  • We did not know your father/husband too well but we heard a lot about him through Anna. I know you will all miss him very much so hold on to your memories and share them with others. Time will never get rid of the pain you feel but it will help you cope a little more each day.
