

THEODORE KNOOK It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of a great man, Theodore Petrus Knook on June 24, 2012 at the age of 82. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 54 years, Annette; his daughters Clasina (Richard Muller), Linda (Brent Peters), Vivian (Ron Van Walleghem), Shelley (Dave Torz), and his son Robert (Wanda). His most cherished legacy are his grandchildren Rachelle (Scott), Paul, Charles (Holly), Jocelyn, Jena (Eric), Brennan, Orisha, Kurtis, Matthew, Rylan, Keon, Nicholas, Emily, Ben and his three great-grandchildren Sylvie, Michelle and Chloe. Theo was predeceased by his grandson Stephen and his brother Piet. Theo was born on December 4, 1929 in Alkmaar, the Netherlands to Johannes Knook and Clasina Kramer. He was the eldest of eight children. In the summer of 1954 Theo followed his dreams and emigrated to Canada where he met up with his cousin Henk Jonk and his good friend John DeKock. Theo got this first farming experience in St. Alphonse, Manitoba with Firmin Delichte. He met his little French sweetheart, Annette Beaupre, of Dunrea, Manitoba and they married October 4, 1957. They initially settled in Glenora, Manitoba and after a brief career in agriculture and seven moves in seven years he settled with his family in Fort Garry. His career journey led him through 15 years as foreman with Feedrite Mills and 18 years as an owner/operator with Kleyson Transport. Theo was a community minded man and brightened everyone's day with his kind words and amazingly compassionate ways. He was a devoted husband, father, and fun-loving grandfather. He is, and always will be, loved and remembered by all. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 29, 2012 at Mary Mother of the Church, 85 Kirkbridge Drive. Private inurnment will be held in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis Society.
