WALTER NOWICKI February 10, 1936 - June 26, 2012 It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather at the St. Boniface Hospital, with his family by his side. Walter is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Irene. Also left to mourn his passing are their children: Donald - wife Shelagh and their children Adam and Sam; Barbara - husband Daniel and their children Meagan and Sarah of Calgary; and Christine - husband Joseph and their children Julian and Adrian. Walter was predeceased by his parents and a sister. He immigrated to Canada with his parents in 1950. Walter worked as a millwright for 37 years and retired at the time of the mill's closing in 1990. Walter was a family man and a devoted husband who took great pride in his children and his six grandchildren, who brought him great joy. He was an avid reader, storyteller and fisherman. He had a passion for travel and enjoyed numerous driving adventures near and far. His easygoing nature and humour will be wholly missed. Our family would like to thank Dr. Timothy Hiebert and the staff of the Palliative Care unit at St. Boniface Hospital for their exceptional compassion and care, as well as Dr. T. Fatoye and staff at the Seven Oaks Hospital for their excellent work. In compliance with Walter's wishes, arrangements for a private celebration of life have been made. If anyone desires, contributions may be made to one's charity of choice. 586-8044
