ANNE ANDREST (nee SCHMIDT) February 12, 1924 - June 26, 2012 Peacefully on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at the Riverview Health Centre, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away after a short battle with cancer. Mom was predeceased by her husband of 44 years Edward, her parents Heinreich and Emille Schmidt, brothers Harry, Albert, Bill Schmidt and sister Hilda Tittlemeier. She will be sadly missed by her three sons Allan (Christine), Brian (Cindy) and Chris, four grandchildren Jennifer Coram (Jeff), Brent Andrest, Lisa Rivest and Phillip Rivest, two great-grandchildren Madison Coram and Eric Miller, two sisters Lily Smith and Esther Bachman and two brothers Herbert Smith (Marge) and Walter Smith (Elaine), and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was born February 12, 1924 in Green Oak where she attended school. During the War she met and Married our Dad on July 17, 1943, Mom raised three sons while working at Gurvey's Pharmacy and later 25 years at Wilson Auto Electric. She spent most of her hours in her garden growing many vegetables and loved entertaining family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking and baking especially cookies in her later years for the grand-kids. Her all time favourite relaxation was fishing, she loved to be outdoors. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of one's choice. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, with interment and reception to follow.
