

VICTOR MARUSYK With deep sorrow we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather at the age of 78 years. Vic was born and raised in North Kildonan. After his marriage he lived in Transcona until 1973 when he moved with his wife and family near Oakbank. He was predeceased by his parents Alexander and Pauline Marusyk and his seven siblings. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Virginia (Litchie) and his children Robert (Sylvia), Laurie (Hans Peper), Richard (MiJung Park) and Lynn (Kevin MacDonald); grandchildren Viktor, Natasha, Lexie, Mikayla, Iain, Kallum and stepgrandchildren Nathaniel, Elyssia, Megan and Kristi. Vic was employed by the CNR as a carman for 38 years. After his retirement at 55 he followed his passion for environmentalism working for Greenpeace for the next eight years followed by the Canadian Wildlife Federation. He was an avid fisherman and gardener. Vic loved a great polka and enjoyed cooking and hockey games. He was well read and passionate about global events. Vic was an extremely devoted family man who gave his heart and soul to his children and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all. Funeral will be held at Oakbank United Church, 582 Balsam Crescent, Thursday, July 5 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Canadian Wildlife Federation at 1-877-599-5777 ext. 211 or a charity of your choice.
