JOSEPH SWIDINSKY August 16, 1933 - July 3, 2012 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather and brother on July 3, 2012 at Victoria General Hospital. Joe leaves his three sons Dan, Wade and Jay, grandchildren Joshua and Daniella, brother Tony, sister Emily, and cousins, nieces, nephews and friends to mourn his passing. Joe was predeceased by his parents Peter and Margaret, his brother Michael, his sister Sylvia, and his wife Linda. Born and raised in Rossburn, Manitoba on August 16, 1933, Joe joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served as Leading Aircraftman with 410 Squadron in British Columbia, England, and France during the mid-1950s. While he worked as a Customs Inspector for much of his career at the Winnipeg International Airport, he also accepted assignments to Churchill, Yellowknife, Iqaluit and Lahr, Germany. After retirement Joe broadened his travel adventures and visited in recent years Japan, Central America, South America, the South Pacific, and his former R.C.A.F. bases near Nottingham, England and Marville, France. Joe also is well-known for his love of animals, especially his dogs Chelsea and Tralee. A memorial service for Joe Swidinsky will be held at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main Street, on Monday, July 9 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Green Acres Cemetery, No. 1 Hwy.
