JANICE FEDOROWICH

JANICE FEDOROWICH (COONEY) Janice Fedorowich (Cooney) passed away at her residence at the Coaldale Health Care Centre with her son at her side on Thursday, June 28, 2012. Born January 26, 1926, Janice was born and raised most of her life in Winnipeg until retirement took she and her husband John to Lethbridge, Alberta. Janice is survived by her children: Pat (Leon) Checkryn, Susan (Malcolm) Hutton, Tina (Gilbert) Law, John (Kelly), and Janice (Keith) Grift. She is also survived by her 14 grand-children and eight great-grandchildren. Janice was predeceased by her husband John in 2002 and daughter Julie in 2004, her mother and father, Edward and Kristjana Cooney, and her brothers and sisters. She was the last surviving member of 13 children. John and Janice were married in Winnipeg and together they raised six children. They lived their early years in the North End of Winnipeg, moving to Transcona in the 1960s. Janice was a stay at home Mom for many years when her children were young. As her children got older, she went to work for Safeway in Transcona. She enjoyed her many years of work there until her retirement. Always with a zest for life, Janice enjoyed family and friends and certainly many enjoyable years going to their cabin in the Whiteshell. She had a little gambler in her as she lived to spend time at bingo or the casino for her girls night out. Janice will be missed by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place and the interment will take place in Winnipeg at a later date.   • Sad to hear of your mom's passing. It is the hardest part of life loosing someone you love. I remember your mom's laugh, it was so infectious you just had to laugh with her. She was a very special lady.
