KARL SEIDEL

KARL SEIDEL January 7, 1929 - July 23, 2012 Peacefully after a courageous battle with a debilitating stroke, Karl passed away at the Portage District General Hospital, July 23, 2012. He will be sadly missed by his wife Rita (nee Pepin), his daughter Cheryl (Art) Windsor, his granddaughter Raquel (Daniel) Bloch and their children Noah and Arielle, his sister-in-law Doris and her children, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Karl was predeceased by his parents Franz and Karoline Seidel, his wife Jean (nee Caryk), his brother Frank, and his sister Ann. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 1125 Saskatchewan Ave. E., followed by interment in Fannystelle Cemetery, Fannystelle, Manitoba. The family wish to express our gratitude to the staff at Health Sciences Centre and the Portage General Hospital for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, Catherine Newham-Portage Office, 103 Wilkinson Crescent, Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 1A7.   • Uncle Karl will always be more than an uncle to me; he and my father, Frank, farmed together and lived together for many years. We were one large and happy family. I always loved him and my Aunt Jean with a very special love. They will always be loved deeply by me. Forever in my heart.

  • Karl (Grandpa) will forever be in my heart. I had the pleasure of meeting him 9 years ago when I became a part of his family through his Granddaughter Raquel. Karl has been a huge inspiration, and through his faith and guidance I became a Knights of Columbus member of the 3rd degree. He was an awesome Grandpa and Great Grandpa to our beautiful children Noah and Arielle. He was loved by many and will be missed. One day we will see each other and when we do I'll have one thing to say to you Grandpa "Lets Play Some Cards" God Bless you Grandpa.
