(ANDREW) BRIAN KNETTLE It is with deep regret that we announce the peaceful passing away of (Andrew) Brian Knettle at the Grace Hospital on July 26, 2012, at the age of 61. Brian was predeceased by his father Ronald Knettle. Brian is lovingly remembered by his mother Peggy, his son Craig, his daughter Leanne (Amar/Shawn) Rana, his grandchildren: Alexa, Sabrina, and Cameron Rana, his siblings Dianne Barnes, Sherry Knettle-Barber, Kerry Knettle and Christine Murray as well as, nieces, nephews and extended family. Brian was born in Winnipeg on March 14, 1951. Brian worked most of his adult life in the printing business and was employed by LGM graphics. He always took pride in his work, and really enjoyed his job. He had a beautiful voice, singing in the Winnipeg Boys and Girls Club as a child. Brain or Andy as he was known as by his school friends played lead guitar in the band Just'n Tyme' as a teenager playing 60s rock in the Elmwood and Transcona areas and then carried on as an adult playing with his father, Ronald for the Blessed Sacrament Parish Choir. Brian enjoyed and participated in many sports over his lifetime. In his younger years he was an avid fisherman, and later on in life his passions were golf and curling. He thoroughly enjoyed curling at Deer Lodge with his many friends. When he could no longer curl due to bad knees, he could frequently be seen upstairs at the club watching all the action. Brian also loved to watch hockey and he was very happy to see the return of the Winnipeg Jets to our city. Brian was also a member of the Fraternal Eagles. Brian loved life, his family and his friends. Anyone who knew him, knew that he had a big heart and would go out of his way to help others. He loved his children and grandchildren very much and spoke of them often. In keeping with Brian's wishes, cremation has taken place. The celebration of Brian's life will be held at the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. On behalf of the family we would like to thank all the nurses, doctors and spiritual staff at the Grace Hospital who helped us in our time of sorrow.
