

ALFRED (ALFIE) LINDSAY MONKMAN On August 9, 2012 at the Selkirk General Hospital, Alfie Monkman, aged 62 years, of Selkirk, MB. Alfie lived his early years in Loon Straits and attended high school in Cranberry Portage. He moved to Selkirk in the early 1970s and worked at the Manitoba Rolling Mills for 38 years retiring on January 1 of this year. He was predeceased by his parents Lindsay and Edith and a brother Kevin. He leaves surviving daughters Cindy (Theron) Black and Leah (Dennis) Stevenson, a son Mervin Buddy (Terri); grandchildren Trisha, Dylan, Raini, Ethan, Terrin, Clint, Neil, D.J., Tracey, Rochelle and Shanice; great-grandchildren Mileah and Adam; brothers Clarence (Bonnie), Gordie (Linda), Davy (Marlene), Kris (Angela), Mike (Lorri) and Tim (Nicole); sisters Irene (Barry) Selkirk and Violet (Clifford) Lea; sister-in-law Diane; numerous nieces and nephews; the mother of his children, Darlene; good friend Wayne Sinclair, as well as many other friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 13 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk with viewing one hour prior to service. Cremation to follow.
