ROY EDWIN BARBOUR December 21, 1948 - August 6, 2012 Roy Edwin Barbour suddenly passed away on Monday August 06, 2012 at the age of 63. Roy was the son of John Barbour and Beatrice Bowie. Left to cherish his memory are his children Darrell, Cory, Andrew, Jackie and grandchildren Callie, Brody and Keanna all of Winnipeg. Roy was survived by his sister Jonna Peltz of Warren and continued a close relationship with his children's mother Bonnie Barbour also of Winnipeg. He was predeceased by his mother, father and his sister Marlene. Roy was born December 21, 1949, in Balmoral and lived the majority of his life in Stonewall. Roy enjoyed hunting and riding horses in his early years. He had a horse named Joe, that was one of his passions. Roy also had many trophies from his hunting days, he was so proud of them. As he got older Roy preferred to spend his days fishing on the Red River with his friends and family admiring the wildlife, becoming almost a conservationist. His favorite place was Oak Hammock Marsh. He loved going there and watching the geese migrate and observing other wild life in their natural habitat. He also enjoyed gardening and would often talk about helping with the garden at his apartment. Roy was a gentle hearted, caring person that was always there when needed. He will be missed by all. We would like to thank the Tenant's Association at his apartment building - Sumka Place - for all of their help this past week with his Celebration of Life that was held Tuesday, August 14, 2012. In lieu of Flowers a donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Oak Hammock Marsh. MACKENZIE FUNERAL CHAPEL STONEWALL (204) 467-2525 mackhome@mts.net
