MARIE ANNE LOEPPKY July 4, 1922 - October 2, 2012 Marie Loeppky, beloved by her family and many friends, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of October 2, 2012 into the arms of the Lord. She was predeceased by her loving husband Neil in 1976. She was also predeceased by both her parents Bill and Agnes Lynn, brothers Jim and Fred, sister Lily and husband Mike, sister-in-law Jessie, nephew Ivan and niece Marie. Mom is survived by her loving children, Don (Joan), Cheryl (Al), Deborah (Don), and Brian (Paige), grandchildren Ken (Tanya), Richard (Adrienne), Christopher (Stacey), Lindsey, Trevor (Nadia), Shannon (Christina), Cassie, Kristie (Mark), Josie, Janelle, and Logan, great-grandchildren Jayden, Camryn, Elijah, Alexandra, Gabriella, Callie, Caden and Jesse. She is also survived by her sister Doris (Gib), and two sisters-in-law Catherine Lynn and Anne Doerksen. Mom and Dad were married in 1946 and lived in Winnipeg Beach where Dad was a Watkins salesman. In 1950 they moved to St. Norbert where they ran a local grocery store until 1973. Mom worked for Canadian Tire from 1973 until 1984 when she retired. Mom was a founding member of the St. Norbert United Church which eventually became Trinity United Church in Fort Richmond. Mom was a strong, independent, kind and loving person who loved and cherished all of her family. She loved knitting, dancing and was always meeting and making new friends. Many thanks to Rosemary Schallmann, her case co-ordinator and all her homecare workers at Meadowood Manor, to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Victoria General Hospital for their care and compassion, to Dr. Bruce Mcleod, her physician, to Dr. George Kalicinsky, her dentist and to Steve, her pharmacist for the many years of taking care of Mom's numerous needs. Also, many thanks to Pastor Dave Holland and his wife Darlene and to Rev. Elizabeth Brown for their spiritual leadership and blessings. A service will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity United Church, 933 Summerside in Fort Richmond. A private family interment will follow immediately after the service and reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Trinity United Church Building Fund, 933 Summerside Avenue, Winnipeg, MB or Meadowood Manor, 575 St. Anne's Road, Winnipeg, MB. Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue is in charge of the funeral arrangements. Miss me but let me go When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom filled room. Why cry for a soul set free. Miss me a little, but not too long, and remember the love we once shared. Miss me but let me go. For this is a journey we all must take and each must go alone a step on the road to home. So when you are lonely and sick at heart, go to the friends we knew and bury your sorrow in doing good deeds and never be afraid to hold your head high till we meet again. Love Mom

  • Love you Grandma. - Posted by: Josie Loeppky (Granddaughter ) on: Oct 08, 2012

  • My deepest sympathy to Don, Cheryl, Debbie, Brian and families. My fondest memory of Marie was when I would bring her a bag full of fresh vegetables from mom's garden. Many times she would give me a carton of "Blue Boy" ice cream (does anyone remember Blue Boy ice cream?) She would turn and look at Neil and say to me "Don't tell Neil". Those were the days! Take care. Susan Coss - Posted by: Susan Coss & Marjorie Moreau (Family Friends) on: Oct 07, 2012
