WOLDEMAR (BILL) EDIGER Woldemar (Bill) Ediger passed away peacefully on March 2, 2013 at Grace Hospital. He is survived by his son, Walter (Barb) Ediger, daughter Marlene (Bruce) Quesnel, son James Ediger and granddaughter, Angela and husband Herbert Quesnel-Strasser. He also is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret, his parents, Abram and Anna Ediger, sisters Mary and Elsie and brothers Abe and Jack. Woldemar Ediger was born in Alexandrodar, Russia on January 27, 1921. The Ediger family moved to Canada in 1926 and lived in Winnipeg, Poplarfield and Oakland before settling on the farm north of High Bluff around 1930. He worked as an orderly at Winnipeg General in the 1940s. After his Dad's death in 1944, he took over running the farm. In 1946, he married Margaret Falk and they raised their three children. In 1959, the family moved to Portage la Prairie. He worked at MDC until 1967. In 1967, the family moved to Winnipeg. He worked at the Grace Hospital as an orderly and later as dark room technician until his retirement in1986. He also worked at Boeing of Canada from 1973 until 1975. Woldemar was one who lived by his lifelong motto "to leave a trail from your life". He could be found snowblowing driveways along the street just to make life easier for his neighbours. He was always willing to help you if he was able and always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. He will be sorely missed by his family and those that he knew. A special thanks to the staff at Grace Hospital for their excellent care during this last stay. Cremation has already taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of one's choice in Woldemar's memory would be appreciated.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)
Such and friendly and interesting man was your father. Always sharing stories of his life. May he rest in peace. Our deepest sympathy to you Walter and Barb and Ediger Family. Heather and Jules - Posted by: Heather and Jules Burnell (Neighbours) on: Mar 09, 2013
Willy had a great memory and loved to tell stories from the past, which could be 85 years ago, from his childhood. I think the oldest I ever heard was from his time in Russia when he was under 5 years old, and most of the stories ended with a big belly laugh from Willy. Maggie and I will really miss Willy and we hope Jim continues to be as strong as he has been. Our prayers and thoughts are with the family. - Posted by: Ron Henderson (Nephew - through Maggie) on: Mar 06, 2013
A truly fantastic Uncle. Always acknowledged all his nephews & nieces as special people in his life. A great story teller. One of the first in the family to own a TV. I remember many a visit to the High Bluff farm, when we stayed until the Late Movie was over before we went home. We love you & will miss you. - Posted by: Vic Falk (nephew) on: Mar 05, 2013
