DANUEL FRANCIS JOHN COLTER On Saturday, March 2, 2013 Danuel (Dan) Colter died at the age of 76 years. Dan was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Ingeborg Louise Colter. He is survived by three children, Alan (Calgary), Clifford (Thompson), and Burton (Brandon); as well as two grandchildren, James and Steven. He is survived by his elder sister Josephine Sutherland and younger brother Lucky Sutherland. He will be sadly missed by his sisters-in-law Monica, Angelika, Gisela, Elenor and Cheryl; brothers-in-law Henry, Adolph, Robert and Gunter as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Dan was born in 1937 in Vancouver, BC. He enlisted in the army in 1953 and found his wife (Inge) when returning from a tour in Germany. They married in Emerson, MB on August 12, 1961, and together they travelled throughout Canada and Germany, raising their three sons through good times and bad. Dan left the Canadian Forces and joined Winnipeg Transit as a Bus Driver in 1978 until 1990 when he was forced to retire due to a disability. He spent the remaining time in Emerson, MB with his wife. He will be remembered for his love for his dogs, caring for many stray and rescued dogs through the years with his wife. No public service will be held. Dan's ashes will be placed together with Inge's at the Emerson Cemetery. A memorial service will be held for family and friends on June 1, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Emerson Cemetery in Emerson, MB. The family requests that donations be made to your local Humane Society in lieu of flowers.

UnCLE Danuel always had a sense of humor but always had time to be serious to and he loved all his children and what he called kids witch were his dogs i never got to meet him in person but i have seen his pics and they are full of happiness and warmth and I talked with him on the phone and hie has sent me photo on a disc ect...of him and his dogs and his wife use to write me letter it was like i knew them in person but it was there spirits with us and will now continue to be with all in spirit may Uncle Danny and aunty be together know and may they both rest in peace together, they are and will be greatly missed. - Posted by: Gerry Pilon (Green) (neice) on: Mar 09, 2013
