GLEN COPELAND SCOTT On February 20, 2017, Glen Scott, beloved husband of Shirley for 65 years, passed away peacefully, at the age of 89 years. Glen was the father to three sons, Douglas (Suzanne), Richard (Linda) and Garry (Tonya); grandfather to eight, and great- grandfather to three. Also, remaining to cherish Glen's memory are his brother Reg (Yvonne); brother-in-law David Neabel (Elpha); sister-in-law Marjory Gardner and a number of nephews, nieces and cousins. On September 20, 1927, Glen was born in Minnedosa, Manitoba and grew up on the family farm. In 1955, he joined the CNR Police where he remained until his retirement in 1986. While with the police, Glen was a member of the Police Combat Shooting Team where he won numerous awards and was recognized as a Masterclass Shooter. Throughout his life, he enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting and family camping trips. He could fix or make almost anything. "Don't worry Dad can fix it" became a favourite family saying. He was very much at home in his workshop or in the garage working on various projects or fixing cars. In his later years, he and Shirley enjoyed living in their travel trailer at Stonewall where they made many friends and created new memories. Glen was a gentle man that loved to share stories especially at family get-togethers. He sure knew how to clean his plate. In compliance with Glen's wishes, a private family get-together will be held at a later date to celebrate Glen's life. The family wishes to thank the staff at Maples Personal Care Home for all the support they provided Glen. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3.
