LEONARD (LEO) WEIDMANN It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our Father and Opa; Leonard Weidmann on February 11, 2017 at the age of 84. Surrounded by his family, he was peacefully eased of his pain and suffering after a brief but courageous struggle. Remaining to forever cherish Leonard's memory are his children, Bernie (Linda) Weidmann, Eleanor Weidmann and Lori (Keith) Cochrane; his precious grandchildren, Eric and Sarah Weidmann and Kaitlyn, Jeremy and Lucas Cochrane; his sister in Germany Frieda Scheel; his brother's wives in Germany, Emma and Ella Weidmann, as well as many other sisters / brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Leonard was predeceased by his loving wife Marie, of 51 years; his parents, Daniel and Wanda Weidmann; his brothers, Harry and Bruno Weidmann; his sister Erna Janz; his sister's husbands, Heinz Scheel and Otto Janz, and his grandchildren, Adam and Tucker Cochrane. Leonard worked at Pallas Painting & Decorating for over 45 years. For many years he was an active member of the Lutheran Church of the Cross and the German Society of Winnipeg. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. Dad was our family handyman and there was nothing he couldn't do or fix. Dad was very caring and compassionate, always putting everyone else before himself. We will miss his great sense of humour and stories of his life experiences. The family extends a heartfelt thanks to the Palliative Care staff, in particular his nurse Tamara. Leonard's funeral service will be held on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lutheran Church of the Cross, 560 Arlington St., Winnipeg with interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Ave., Winnipeg. Should friends and family desire, donations may be made in Leonard's memory to the Lutheran Church of the Cross or the Canadian Cancer Society. You will always be treasured in our hearts. We love and miss you! Wojcik's Funeral Chapels & Crematoriums, Winnipeg, 1020 Main Street, 204.586.8668 www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com
