LLOYD EDWARD AMES We are saddened to announce the passing of Lloyd Edward Ames on February 19, 2017 in London Ontario at the age of 87. Lloyd is survived by his wife Marlene; children from his first marriage, Lynda (Ken Smith), Nancy (Brian Cummings), Jeff; grandchildren, Matthew Smith (Jen) Heather Smith, Bryan Smith (Alison), Emily Cummings, Cameron Cummings; great-grandchildren, Mara, Calli and Avery; sister Geraldine McKinley as well as several nieces and nephews. Lloyd was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba where he grew up on Matheson Avenue. He had a long career in the investment business working with Richardson Securities for more than 40 years. During his career, Lloyd lived and worked in Winnipeg, Kenora Ontario, Medicine Hat and Calgary Alberta, Toronto Ontario, Grand Cayman Island and Turks and Caicos Islands. Lloyd loved the outdoors. He enjoying working around the yard and at one point built a three hole golf coarse at the summer home in Ontario. He was a skilled wood carver winning several awards for his duck carvings. Lloyd was a long time member of Shriners International. Lloyd retired to Florida in 1989. He later went back to work for RBC Dominion Securities where he established an office in the Turks and Caicos Islands. In 2000 he once again retired and returned to Florida. In late 2015, Lloyd and Marlene moved to London, Ontario. There will be no service as per Lloyd's wishes. Memorials may be made to a charity dedicated to the preservation of the wetlands such as Fort White Alive, Oak Hammock Marsh or Ducks Unlimited.

Lloyd hired me as rookie in the investment business while he was the manager for Richardson Securities here in Toronto. I found Mr. Ames, as I knew him then, to be a very kind and thoughtful individual. I'm sure he will be sorely missed by those who knew him.
