PHILLIP GERALD JUNDT June 22, 1987 - March 17, 2017 PJ passed away in his sleep, at home, in the early hours of March 17, 2017, after a lifelong, and what turned out to be, a horrific battle with Type I Diabetes. PJ grew up in Camper, MB, a fearless, spirited little guy. He spent many summers in our dugout with his Chesapeake Retriever "Hooch" tossing a fencepost for Hooch to fetch. His last couple of years he enjoyed time with his companion dog Buddy. He got to do all the country boy stuff with his dad; hunting, ATV'ing, trapping, driving the old Ford around the fields and target shooting. He was a crack shot and got all the 'firsts' in Bear and Deer. His favourites were bonfires, fireworks and anything that made a large BOOM. He had a soft heart and was easily hurt, but could laugh just as quickly. PJ was an artist from the moment he could hold a pencil and sketched every cartoon or movie character that caught his interest. His eight foot Tasmanian devil and dinosaur are still on our basement walls. He later worked with wood, metal, costume design and helped his mom with cake design and finishing. When he lost his mobility his "online gaming family" was a great support. His artistic nature often led to "Oh no, I forgot to do that". His greatest love was his little family and was completely heartbroken when he no longer had his family. It's all he ever wanted. He loved you very much with all his heart. Claire and Jenelle, remember that always. He got to laugh with us and The Boys. His great quirky, practical "git er done" sense of humour provided us many a gasp and roars of laughter. Special thanks to those who softened the battle blows: Dad, Bro and Sis, Nanny Panny, The Boys - Mark and Evan who made him laugh when he needed cheering up, Barry and MaryAnne Cope, Mel and Azaria. Also to Aunti D, Uncle D and Aunti B, Aunti C, Uncle B, Doug T, Jeremy and Amanda, Bianca J, Talmadge and the Nacey family, Doctors Roets, Soliman, Emadi, Embil and team, Angel and team, Cindy M - you're the best, Sheryl M - you were his favourite, Gigin, Joycee and those of you who showed compassion, you know who you are. Phill's journey through the healthcare system had good days and bad days. Left to mourn are Phill's daughters Claire, Jenelle and their mom Vanessa; parents Garry and Shelley; brother Nigel (Melony) and Azaria; sister Nancy Thorgilsson (Michael), Shannon and Connor; grandmother Janet Jundt; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A private gathering will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Phill's memory to the Phillip Jundt Memorial Fund, Noventis Credit Union, PO Box 580, Ashern, MB R0C 0E0. Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • To Phillip's family, especially Shelley. I am truly profoundly saddened by your loss of phillip. A guy who showed us all how to kick diabetes' ass, and to still try to smile trough the pain. Just having those moments in the er or at the drug store or where ever we met up. And we would swap our latest medical battles together. I just hope I have even half his strength when I start my big battle with diabetes. You will be missed. And thought of often. Shelley, I am here ANYTIME for coffee or just whatever. Sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Gesele Nabess (friend and fellow diabetic) on: Apr 03, 2017
