GARRY ALISCH Garry Alisch, age 78, of Winnipeg, MB passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. He had been battling an acute respiratory infection which precipitated a heart attack several weeks prior. Garry was born in Paluszek, Poland on August 21, 1938 to Leo and Martha Alisch. He was the second youngest of four children, including his three sisters Erika, Edeltraut and Irma. He was predeceased by his wife Ingrid in April 2015. Garry is survived by his two sons, David (Kelly) Alisch of Calgary and their children Jayrica and Nolan, and James (Shauna) Alisch of Abbotsford and their children Bryn, Maia and Grady. Garry was a man of principle and process, who valued doing his best and seeing things through. He was passionate about the outdoors whether it was yard work at home, or time at the family cottage at Betula Lake. He also loved hunting, fishing and golfing, and some of his favourite memories were being outside with his family whom he dearly loved. He was a school teacher by trade, but a student of life and the Word of God. Over the years, Garry also served in many capacities at McDermot Avenue Baptist Church. A public celebration of Garry's life will be held at McDermot Avenue Baptist Church, 821 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 12:00 noon with viewing prior to the service. Luncheon and fellowship to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Garry's memory can be made to the Meadowood Manor Foundation Inc.
