JOYCE ADKIN Peacefully on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, Joyce passed away at West Park Manor. Joyce was predeceased by her husband Frank, sister Doris, and brother George. Those left to cherish her memory are her sister-in-law Lorraine Clifford, and nieces Donna (Andy) McPherson, Sharon (Denis) Paulhus, and Susan (Rob) Meyer, as well as numerous great-nieces and a great-nephew. Joyce had a long career at the Grace Hospital with over 25 years of dedicated service. She had a special place in her heart for the Salvation Army. Joyce's fondest memories were of the cottage her and Frank built at Deception Lake. The family would like to thank her caregivers at West Park Manor for the compassionate care they provided. A special thank you to Brenda and Tim. In following with Joyce's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)
I have known Joyce Adkin since the late '60s. At the time, I worked in the Operating Room and Joyce worked in the Personnel Department (now known as the Human Resources Department). I don't remember how we actually met and became very good friends. Joyce was such a joy to know ..... so friendly, patient, had a wonderful sense of humour and treated everyone with respect. I also became a friend of Joyce's husband, Frank. I have often wondered where Joyce lived after her retirement, as I would have loved to have visited with her. Strangely enough, I live very close to West Park Manor (where Joyce passed), which is located practically across the street from my condo at Grant & Chalfont. Please accept my sincerest sympathy on the loss of such a wonderful lady. Very grateful for having known Joyce. I have always missed her. Sincerely, Heather Webster R.N.
