KATE BIGLOW (nee TEASDALE) Kitty passed away peacefully on February 25, 2017, at the age of 95. She is survived by her sister, May, of Sunderland, UK; daughters Christine (Lyall), Kathryn (Colin) and Gillian (Christopher); grandchildren Rod, Nicole, Alanna and Robin; their spouses and seven great-grandchildren. Kitty was born and educated in Sunderland, trained as a nurse through the Second World War, met and married Sidney in 1945. She embraced her new life in Canada as a war bride and was thrilled to become a part of the large Biglow clan. Kitty raised her daughters with Sid in St. James until his death in 1968. She then studied at Red River College, learned to drive a car and worked as a bookkeeper. Kitty loved to travel to the United Kingdom, Spain, the United States and all across Canada. Sometimes in a camper, sometimes first class! Kitty loved many activities including bowling, walking, elderobics, listening to music, watching sports, painting, sewing and knitting, but she especially enjoyed any time with her family and friends. Kitty will always be remembered for her generous heart, her independence, her love of a good cup of tea, her staunch opinions and her desire to be liked by everyone. She was a great Sister, Mom, Grandma, Nana and friend. We will cherish her memory and her life will live on in all who knew her. A memorial service to celebrate Kitty's life will be held at Charleswood United Church, 4820 Roblin Blvd., on Saturday, May 13, at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ronald McDonald House.
