MICHAEL EVASCHESEN On May 8, 2017, after a brief illness, Michael Evaschesen passed away at the age of 77, with family by his side. Michael is survived by his wife, Louise, Jaclyn (Wayne Warkentin), grandson Walker, and Donalee (Dave Sharratt), grandchildren Emily and Ryder. He also leaves to mourn, his siblings Elizabeth (Murray Burt), Peter (Beth Evaschesen), Jeannie (Chris Brewer), and Alice (Neil Marvin), in-laws June Evaschesen, Kent (Judy) Lynn, Vic Peters and Pat (Murray) Frost, and many nieces and nephews. Michael was predeceased by his parents Michael and Jean, siblings John, Christine, and niece, Lindsay. Michael was born in Regina, SK and remained a Roughrider fan until the end. In 1960, Michael married Louise, and became an Air Traffic Controller. Together, they thrived in Regina, Saskatoon, and Winnipeg. In 1984, Michael retired from the dry cleaning business, and in 1997 he retired after 37 years as an Air Traffic Controller to focus on his other passions: spending time with his family and friends, travelling often to Alberta, Saskatchewan, Arizona, also to Hawaii, Cuba, Mexico and Disneyland, landscaping, building, hosting tent parties in his yard, playing crib, cooking, wine making and watching movies. Our family would like to thank Seven Oaks Hospital, doctors and nurses, especially Dr. T. Fatoya, Dr. J. Johnston, Dr. G. Vasquez-Grande, and the people of Health Sciences Centre ICU. If so desired, donations may be made to the Seven Oaks School Division Foundation or the Seven Oaks Hospital Foundation. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street with Rev. Mary Best officiating. Interment will follow at a later date. • Louise,Jacklyn,Donna Lee and families Our deepest sympathies Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not, there, I do not sleep I am a 1,000 winds that blows I am the diamond glints on snow I am the sun on ripened grain - Posted by: Allan and Clara Cook (Co-worker and Friends) on: May 12, 2017

  • Louise, please accept our condolences on your loss of Michael. I first met Mike in Regina in 1960, and except for a few years we always worked in the same units. He was always pleasant and easy to work with. On the lighter side, he was the only controller in Regina tower who could run a circuit of afternoon sunday flyers and read a western pocket book at the same time. My wife Linda knew him from her working time in atc centre office. We will remember him. Gil and Linda Richard. - Posted by: Gil Richard () on: May 11, 2017

  • Really sorry to hear of your family's devastating loss. Mike was a true support to Louise and was so quietly proud of "his girls". He went to extreme efforts to enable them to become the quality people and professionals that they are. He was a dedicated friend. Who else, when we tromped the bush, would share with a fellow Ukrainian the location of the best mushroom patches? We will pray that your grief is tempered by positive memories, by the fact that he is no longer in pain and that you have friends who are great supports to you. • Our sincere sympathies to you Louise, Jacklyn and Donna Lee. And your families. Mike was a good man. We are thankful to have gotten to know him and to experience his gracious hospitality. He will surely be missed. - Posted by: Charlotte Livingston (Teacher friend ) on: May 10, 2017
