Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Patrick family at this sad time. Having had the privilege of knowing Mrs. Patrick for some 48 years, I was often a fixture at the family home and cottage as a friend of Sandra's. Mrs. Patrick's smile was one of comfort, welcome and joy. Her quiet, elegant manner was effortless, matched by her witty dry sense of humour. Having been the recipient of her's and Mr. Patrick's never ending generosity, I had the privilege of being invited along on family ski vacations to Banff and Aspen, which are still my most memorable and appreciated vacations. Sharing, caring and to be giving is how I witnessed her raise her children. My fondest memories are of ones of being with the Patrick family as a whole. There was always a full house, lots of baking, great conversations involving politics, history and sports. Mrs. Patrick along with Mr. Patrick ensured their children were given every opportunity possible, which often included me for which I am forever grateful. Mrs. Patrick was always quietly orchestrating all the activities of her own family and others, including skating, hockey, baseball, volleyball, basketball, skiing, snowmobiling and piano playing, just to name a few. Thank you Mrs. Patrick for often setting an extra place setting for one and being such an important figure in my life. To this day, I choose brown bread over white because of you. May you rest in peace. - Posted by: Debra Jensen (nee Allbutt) (Family Friend ) on: Jul 02, 2017

  • My deepest of sympathy in the passing of your mother and grandmother. I have great memories of spending time with the Patrick family at their home on Red Robin and their cottage at Falcon Lake. God bless your mother June and father Steve. I am honoured to have known them. - Posted by: Michelle Demorest-Voth (Family Friend) on: Jun 28, 2017

  • So sorry to hear about your Mom June. I remember her so well. She smiled at me the moment I walked in for my job interview. She was always friendly and was so proud of her family. I went into insurance most likely because of the Patrick family and discussions with June and Steve. I left the realty area there and went for the level 3 insurance designation. I worked for a few different brokerages in Winnipeg and went on to Personal lines Manager in BC but never felt the same connection of family with those brokerages. Very unique. June will be remembered fondly by me. - Posted by: laurie mckenzie-tann (past employee ) on: Jun 23, 2017

  • We were so very saddened to hear of your Mom's passing. Our deepest and most heartfelt condolences go out to you all. June was the quiet matriarch of the Patrick family - an amazing and beautiful lady with such grace and class - and a contagious laugh! She was truly a devoted wife and Mom who raised a beautiful family of which she was so proud - and who were so good to her. We will cherish our many great memories of "Auntie June" going as far back as the old cabin at Falcon Lake and all the fun times our families spent together. June was a very dear friend to our Mom and we recall the many hours they spent around the kitchen table on Ronald St. solving the world's problems. We'd like to think that June, Steve, Anita and Doug are up there catching up! You were truly blessed with a wonderful Mom and may she rest in peace. • My heart goes out to my friends, Kim and Sandra, and to their entire family at this time. I have been entertained throughout decades with tales of Mrs Patrick and she leaves behind a family that will miss her very much. As she joins your father, have comfort that she is at peace. Big hug.
