PHYLLIS BLOCK (nee PATZER) It is with saddened hearts, the family announces the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother on June 24, 2017, with her family by her side. Mom was predeceased by her husband August (1995), daughter Marilyn (2001), daughter-in-law Marlene (1998), her parents, sisters, Lorraine, Geri, and many in-laws. Mom is survived by her daughter Sandra (Gerry), son Wayne, granddaughters, Melody (Don), Delaney (Trevor), Amanda (Tyler) and Kellsie (Braden), great-grandson (Kellan), stepgreat-granddaughters, Jennifer (Sheldon) and Kelsey, stepgreat-great-grandsons, Keenan and Kameron, sisters, Marge (Frank), Mildred, Carole, Annette and Bev (Ed), brothers, Elmer (Evelyn), Roy (Barbara) and Don (Donna), brother-in-law Lloyd, and sister-in-laws, Nora and Tillie. Mom was born on October 30, 1932 in Thalberg, MB to Linda and William Patzer. Mom and Dad were married on June 13,1953. Mom loved family. Her seven sisters and three brothers, combined with Dad's family of 12, in-laws and many nieces and nephews, only enhanced her love. Mom and Dad hosted many family gatherings at their homes on Polson and James Carleton. No crowd was ever too big. Mom took pride in all of us, children, grandchildren and in-laws alike, always wanted to know what we were up to and most of all make sure we were okay. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for their compassionate care. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave. at Henderson Hwy. Private family interment to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. "MOM, GRANDMA, YOU WILL BE MISSED! WE LOVE YOU AND YOU WILL LIVE IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER!"

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • I was saddened to hear of Aunt Phyllis's passing. Although I have not had visits with her recently, I will always remember her when I was a young child of 8 or 9. I very much remember the day she married Uncle August-a most beautiful bride and such a happy occasion. Having moved many times from province to province I lost touch with many of the family. I now reside in Vancouver since 1979. To the family, my sincere condolence. Phyllis truly was a beautiful woman to have known. Rest in peace - Posted by: Vicky Resch nee "Klatt" (niece) on: Jul 09, 2017

  • I have not seen Phyllis for a number of years but I always remembered her. She was a great lady who always had time for you!!! My condolences to her family. John Tomchuk - Posted by: John Tomchuk (Friend and Former neighbour) on: Jul 04, 2017

  • I first met Phyllis when my Grandma lived in the same apartment complex more than 10yrs ago. Before it would be a casual hello, and a short conversation while we met in the hallway to do laundry. After my own grandmother's passing back in 2008, Phyllis and I started a friendship like none other I've ever had. She would check up on me and call and I would do the same. She became "Grandma Phyllis" ♡ My last visit to Grandma Phyllis we talked, and I asked how she was feeling and and like always she would say "I'm fine dear". So we gave each other a hug and I told her I would see her soon. I will also always remember your voice when we would talk on the phone. I'll never forget that. Thank you for showing me a deeper kind of friendship that I will never find anywhere else. And for that, I will forever treasure it in my heart. I love you Phyllis, may you rest in peace and finally breathe easily ♡ Condolences to the families & friends. She really was an amazing person. So much love and laughter all around. My heart go out to you xo - Posted by: Jasmine Cruz (Friend, neighbor ♡) on: Jun 30, 2017
