EMMA JOSEPHINE ADAMSON April 22, 1935 - June 26, 2017 Joey was predeceased by her parents, Gilbert and Emma Adamson, her brother John Adamson, her first husband Martin Ainley, and her dear friend Joy McDiarmid. Her children, Chris (Sally), Andrew (Sharon) and Susan (Gary), and her grandchildren, Tom (Amy), Jennifer, Matt (Megan), Mitch, Chris, Scott, Chelsea, Travis, Katie, Lauren, Jake and Ashley will miss the Duck/Granjo dearly but are thankful her battles are done. Mum's spirit touched and affected so many people through her 82 years. Her love of music which she generously shared with others, was an ice-breaker and cement for her friendships with so many. Known for her huge heart, her straightforward communication style and her generosity, her loyal friends from her Winnipeg General Hospital nursing class, the community of St. John's Ravenscourt School, her beloved friends from the Victoria Beach, her adopted family at the Selkirk District General Hospital and so many others will feel the void left by her death. There are so many people to thank: Dr. Ian Alexander who epitomizes what a family physician should be; the many staff at Selkirk District General Hospital who ensured Mum was comfortable and lovingly cared for during her long hospitalization; Teresa Sawatsky without whose care and friendship, Mum wouldn't have been able to maintain her independence so long; her innumerable dear friends at Victoria Beach but in particular the Gatesons, Bill and Lila, and all her old friends who have reached out during her illness. Mum decided not to have a service or memorial. Her simple wish in lieu of sending flowers was to have you plant a flower in your garden in her memory. If you wish, a donation to the Victoria Beach Seniors Scene would also be appreciated. We shall all miss the Duck!
