WAYNE (CHARLES) ORR August 1, 1944 - July 11, 2017 It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Wayne. After a brief yet courageous battle with lung cancer, Wayne passed away with his wife and children by his side at the age of 72. A Manitoba boy born and raised, Wayne grew up on the prairies in a large loving family. He is predeceased by parents, William and Mabel Orr, brothers, Thomas John and Donald Bruce, sisters, Helen and Joyce. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years, Linda, son Tom (Leane), daughter Christy (Devin), grandchildren, Travis (Tessa), Taylor, Randi and Darian, and great-granddaughter Tenli. This coming year he was also to be blessed with a grandson due in December and a great-grandson due in August, his presence in their life will be greatly missed. Also, left to mourn are his siblings, Edith, Doreen, Ruth and Billy along with many loving nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Throughout his life, Wayne took on many children as if they were his own, he cared deeply for each and every one of them and will be sadly missed by all. Funeral service to be held July 22, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery). Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • Wayne was a frequent shopper at Pollock's. He brightened up the room every time he walked in the door. Always ready with a coin for our little Debbie (our 4 year old who is often here) when she was in, he was always smiling with a contagious smile, we will miss him dearly. Our condolences to his family. - Posted by: Pollock's Hardware Co-op (Friend) on: Jul 20, 2017

  • So very sorry Linda and Family for your loss. - Posted by: Judy Barnych (Friend) on: Jul 18, 2017

  • Uncle Wayne was a man of simple pleasures who cared more for others than himself. One of my earliest memories is as ring bearer at his wedding and my latest of gathering me from the airport in the middle of the night. The flight was delayed many times and Uncle Wayne was fine picking me up at 4:30 after a night of phone calls. Arriving at his home, I got the couch as unexpected guests who needed somewhere to be had already claimed the bed. His open house was just a sample of his open heart. He will be missed by many, not by kings or Lords, but by the multitude who have been touched by his generosity and care. - Posted by: Don Orr (Nephew) on: Jul 18, 2017

  • I used to babysit for Wayne and Linda, when Tom was very little. Wayne & Linda were the nicest folk. Wayne was so friendly and happy, a really great family guy,. I remember Wayne laughing a lot, he had a wonderful sense of humor. I got to say "HI" to him again after many years a few months ago, and he was exactly as I remembered him. He gave me a big hug and asked about my Dad and my kids. Always a sweetheart! I'm very sorry for your loss, my thoughts and prayers are with your families at this sad time. • My Dad was a hard working man, who could always be depended on. I can count the times he came to my rescue, from a stalled car to a broken pipe. I miss him dearly. - Posted by: Christy Orr (Daughter) on: Jul 18, 2017
