HELEN BEATRICE ADAMSON (SHEETS) March 11, 1923 - July 31, 2017 After a long and fulfilling life, Mom has left us. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Harry, and her sisters, Bernice and Gladys, and grandson Craig. She is survived by her children, Gloria (Jack), Don and Jay (Sherri), along with her four grandchildren, Kevin (Fiona), Matthew, Devon and Cole, and three great-grandchildren, Kestrel, Cleodie, and Jack. She is lovingly remembered by numerous family and friends. Mom was born in Alberta and grew up in Smiley, SK. From Smiley, she moved to Saskatoon to start her career working for the Saskatoon Public School Board. It is also where she met Harry and started their life and travels together. Harry's work took them across Saskatchewan, NW Ontario and finally to Winnipeg where they put down roots. Family was always important, so no matter where we were living, holidays were always spent with family in AB, SK, and sometimes MN. There were many happy vacations spent at Kenosee Lake/Kipling, SK and Calgary, AB. At home, there were many evenings spent playing cards and board games. Mom was involved in and organized many neighbourhood activities like bowling, World Series pools, block parties, and of course, the multiple nights each week that she played bridge. Mom found great joy spending time with her grandchildren and baking for them. Special thanks to all of the staff at Poseidon Personal Care Home for the love and care they provided Mom over the years. Thank you to the staff at Victoria Hospital for the special care they provided Mom in her final days. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice. A memorial service will take place 2:00 p.m., August 10, 2017 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB.
