SHEILA SPIGELMAN (nee WINEGRATSKY) Sheila Spigelman (nee Winegratsky) passed away unexpectedly and peacefully on June 23, 2017 at 83 years of age, with her family at her side. She was laid to rest next to her soulmate, Mel, at the Rosh Pina Memorial Park on June 26, 2017. Our Mother and Baba will be missed by her remaining family and lifelong friends. Many of these friendships began when she was a young girl attending grade school, while other close friendships developed when she was a young bride volunteering her time at Hadassah and Sisterhood. Her hands-on approach was so much a part of her life that, the day before her stroke three years ago, she was baking at the Gwen Secter Creative Living Centre with one of her lifelong friends, to ensure that so many could enjoy the taste of Purim. Growing up, our childhood home was truly a home that was open to all. A fresh cup of coffee and an attentive ear was always available. Mom wasn't a traveller, preferring to spend her summers at her beloved cottage for as much time as she could. Right up to the day she passed, she was looking forward to returning to the lake and her beloved cottage for the summer. We leave you with these final words spoken on the day of her funeral: "Let us accompany our Mother and Baba, your friend, on this her final journey. And as we begin this journey let us resolve to honour her by pledging to be a little more caring, to have a little more compassion for those in need. Let us be a little more like her."
