MARGARET JEAN MACCALLUM November 17, 1920 - August 7, 2017 Peacefully, on Monday, August 7, 2017, Margaret passed away at Beacon Hill Lodge at the age of 96. Maggie was predeceased by her husband Robert; parents Douglas and Mary; sister Ruth and brother Douglas. Left to cherish her memory on earth is her daughter Leslie; sons Bob (Val) and Doug (Lois); grandchildren Kristin (Brett), Heather (Bryan) and Reece; great-grandchildren, Spencer, Dylan and Aubrey, and niece Joanne. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Beacon Hill Lodge for their professional and compassionate care. Additional gratitude goes to the wonderful staff that cared for her this past year, to Marilyn for her many visits, and to family physician Dr. Ray Singer. Cremation has taken place and according to her wishes there will be no funeral services. A private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter at 3062 Portage Avenue. Our fondest memories of Margaret will always be her infectious laugh and her warm welcoming heart during our summer vacations at the Lake. She was a beautiful person and wonderful friend who will truly be missed. I recall one visit to the cabin many summers ago, I remained in disbelief as Maggie continued to prepare a 'special' breakfast for everyone as we called out our requests ..
