ANGELA NATALIA WONNACOTT (nee FAVONI) March 8, 1936 - July 27, 2017 It is with great sadness we announce Angela's passing on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Selkirk General Hospital. Angela was born and raised in the northern Italian town of Travedona and remained there until 1952 when she immigrated to Canada with her mother and brother to join her father who had been in Canada since 1949. She settled in Birds Hill near her only other family in Canada - the Binda family. Angela was predeceased in 2014 by her husband of 49 years, Lyle Wonnacott, and her parents, Giuseppina (1980) and Carlo (1983) Favoni. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Elizabeth (Darren) Stobbe, grandchildren, Mikyla, Paige and Jessica, brother Frank (Carol) Favoni, brother-in-law Gordon (Marje) Wonnacott, godsons, Dean Favoni (Kathi Grossart), Frankie (Marianne) Macario and Darryl (Lydia) Binda, several nieces, nephews, and many cousins and close friends in Winnipeg and Italy. Angela was a dedicated employee spending more than 30 years at Peerless Garments and Sterling-Stall sewing factories. It was there where she learned English and a southern Italian dialect, the language of many of her friends. Angela was a people person, and during much of her life she maintained a constant connection with former co-workers, friends and family in Canada and Italy. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staffs of the 6th floor of Misericordia Health Centre, The Tudor House Personal Care Home in Selkirk, and the Selkirk General Hospital for all their excellent care and compassion given to Angela. She is now free of all illnesses, sharing eternal life with her dear husband Lyle. In keeping with Angela's wishes, cremation has taken place and a gathering in her memory will be held at Transcona Memorial United Church, 209 Yale Ave. West on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. Reception and fellowship to follow. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honour Angela's memory may do so by making a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the building fund of the Transcona Memorial United Church, the church where Angela and Lyle were married, the church she never forgot. Riposa in Pace Rest in Peace

  • To her daughter Elizabeth , her brother Frank and to the rest of the family . I am sorry to here that Angela has passed away . Angela always took time to call my mother once my father had passed , just to see how she was doing and if she needed anything . I have many memories of Angela from when I was just a young boy .. " She has gone before us to lay a stone on the pathway to heaven " Carlo Macario ( Calgary) - Posted by: Carlo Macario (Family Friend) on: Aug 12, 2017
