STJEPAN BOTINCAN After a brief illness, and with deep regret, we announce the peaceful passing of Stjepan on August 23, 2017, at Concordia Hospital, at the age of 87 years. He was predeceased by his daughter Marica; father Martin; mother Bara; sisters Marija and Anka. Stjepan is survived by his wife Katica; daughter Stefica (Andy); sons Marijan (Amanda) and Josip (Maria); grandchildren Susan, Martin, Colinda, Jennifer, Stephanie and David; and great-grandchildren Jada, Hunter, Lexi, Esperanza, Inde, Ryder, Katarina and Ethan. Stjepan worked after the Second World War in Croatia in the local coal mines and on the oil fields. Then he went to trade school to learn telephone repair and stayed with the telephone company until 1970, when the family decided to go to Canada. Once here, he worked at Varta Batteries until his retirement. His passions were fishing, hunting and mushroom picking. He loved his family and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Prayers will be said Monday, August 28 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 29 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Tavelich Church, 2688 Main Street. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.   • I am saddened to hear of Stjepan Passing. I had a opportunity to meet him and shared many stories with him. He was a great Man and Patient including his amazing wife. He has really touched my Heart and will never forget him. He will always be in my Thoughts. Sending thoughts and prayers to all the family. May God Bless you All and uphold you.
