NETTIE PFEIFER January 17, 1924 - September 10, 2017 It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Nettie Pfeifer on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at Concordia Place at the age of 93. Nettie will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Angie (husband Bob Steel); and her grandchildren Cody and his girlfriend Melissa, Bailey and her boyfriend Nic. She is also survived by her sister Stella Shulhan,of Vancouver and her brother Sam Shulhan of Roblin. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Andy Pfeifer; her brothers Walter and Peter; and sisters Mary and Anne. She will be missed by her granddogs; Gaston, Jake, Spike and Sadie, especially Jake who spent the last week sleeping by her side and bringing her comfort. Nettie was born in Merrydale, Manitoba on January 17, 1924 and spent her childhood in this area. She went to school and worked on the farm until late twenties when she moved to Winnipeg and met the love of her life. She eventually got a job at Eaton's and spent her career there. She worked there for over 25 years and retired in the late 80s. She married Andy in 1958 and they enjoyed 52 wonderful years together. They were both avid baseball fans and up until two weeks ago, if there were a Blue Jays game on, she would be watching it. Baseball in the summer, curling in the winter, those were her armchair sports. Her other passions were her faith and her family and in particular her grandchildren, Cody and Bailey. From babysitting them when they were young to watching them play their sports to their graduation, those were her proudest moments. She will be hugely missed by her daughter and son-in-law Bob, who was like a son to her. She was a gentle person, always smiling and happy. She has been lonely without Andy for the past seven years and now her journey takes her to a better place in God's house, where I know she will be happy and with her loving husband again. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy # 1 East at Navin Road on Friday, September 15, 2017 with interment and reception to follow. Special thanks to all the nurses at Concordia Place for nurturing and caring for her. This became her home and you made her feel loved. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cancer Society. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery (204) 222-3241 Condolences may be sent to
