PAUL MOWDY Peacefully on October 8, 2017, at the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Paul Mowdy passed away at 95 years of age. Paul was born to Michael and Annie Mowdy on April 5, 1922, the youngest of their seven children. Paul worked for many years as a store man for the City of Winnipeg Hydro until his retirement. In 1949, Paul married the love of his life, Joan (West). Together, they enjoyed life, dancing, travelling and enjoying their treasured summers at their cottage at Hillside Beach. Paul was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Annie Mowdy; his brothers, Michael, Jack, John and Eddie; his sisters, Anne Healey-Ogden and Kaye Wotjun; his niece Heather Saine as well as by his beloved wife Joan in 2008. Paul will be fondly remembered as a gentleman and friend by his sister-in-law Kay Maier; his nieces and nephews, Daniel West (Debbie), Joanne Maier (Ray), Ron Maier (Colleen), Ed Mowdy (Dianna), Dianne Mowdy, Linda Holden (Blair), Joanne Prystupa, Rhona Healey-Ogden and their families. The family would like to thank the staff of the Middlechurch Home for their compassionate work and dedicated care of Paul. If friends wish, donations in Paul's memory may be made to a charity of their choice. Funeral Service 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 13, 2017 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street with viewing one half hour prior to service. Interment at Brookside Cemetery.
