HELEN SCHELLENBERG 1926 - 1999 With great sorrow we announce the death of our mother, Helen Schellenberg. Mother died after a courageous and brief struggle with cancer on September 8, 1999 at the Riverview Health Centre. Mother was predeceased by her husband, Jacob K. Schellenberg in October 1998. Left to mourn are her children, Dennis (Lynda) Schellenberg of Winnipeg, Karon (Arden) Harness of Benito and Wanda (Lorne) Buchko of Teulon. Moms grandchildren, Troy Harness, Kate and Ben Schellenberg and Amanda Buchko will miss their grandma very much. Mom was also predeceased by her two brothers, Henry and Dan Penner. She is also survived by one brother Jim (Margo) of Sundown and four sisters, Mary Penner of Winnipeg, Marge Smith of Gretna, Ruth Young of Virden and Kay Johns of Winnipeg. Mother was born Helen Penner in Plum Coulee. Her parents were Daniel and Helen Penner. She met Dad in the church choir at Bethel Mission Church and married him in Winnipeg in 1947. She was active their whole life together raising her children and later, working as an aide at the Misericordia General Hospital. After retirement, Mom spent her energy enjoying times with the family, especially her grandchildren, travelling and long visits with her many friends. A funeral service will be held at mothers church, Bethel Mennonite Church (Stafford and Carter), on Friday, September 10 at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing in the church foyer just prior to the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel 338-0331. In lieu of flowers, it is the wish of the family that a donation be made in mothers name to Riverview Health Centre Foundation, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB.
