HULDA FOERSTER (nee KOLEWE) 1918-2001 Peacefully in the morning of January 2, 2001, Hulda Foerster (nee Kolewe) went home with her Lord, three weeks before her 83 birthday. Hulda was born on January 25, 1918 in Gliniczshe, Poland, the eighth of ten children born to Katharina (nee Krebs) and Wilhelm Kolewe. Hulda married Martin Foerster in 1937. In 1945, Hulda and Martin moved their family to Leisten, Germany, and in 1954 they started a new life when they immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada. Hulda suffered a stroke in 1965 at the age of 47, and although she struggled with ill health since that time, she continued to love life through her faith in God. Hulda is survived by her daughter Edith (Karl Gaminek) her sons, B. Robert (Beverley), Willi, Ortwin and Harry (Elaine) her grandchildren, Judith, Michael (Kerri) and Andreas (Alexandra) Gaminek, Kathleen (Robert Crang) and Bryan Foerster, and Ryan and Darren Foerster; her great-grandchildren, Robyn, Samantha and Allyson Crang, and Erik and Kjersten Gaminek; her younger sister Alma Kuhn and younger brother Ferdinand Kolewe, both in Germany; and numerous nieces and nephews in Germany, the United States and across Canada. Hulda was predeceased by her husband Martin in 1999; two children in infancy, Elfriede and Ulrich; her sisters, Emma Reinhardt, Natalie Albrecht and Katharina Fetzer; and her brothers, Johann, Wilhelm, Oswald and August Kolewe. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 5 at 10:30 a.m. at Meadowood Manor, 575 St. Annes Road, with Rev. Ed Hamm and Rev. Eberhard Hees officiating. Interment to follow in Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meadowood Manor, 577 St. Annes Rd., Winnipeg R2M 3G5. Auf Wiedersehen Mama, Mutti & Oma.
