EVELYN DOERKSEN (nee ROSIN) Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, with her husband at her side at the Grace Hospital on Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at the age of 73 years. Evelyn was born on March 23, 1931 and lived in Winnipeg most of her life. She worked on the Gayland Shows travelling carnival and later at Canadian Shirt and Overall sewing factory. She was well known for her love and talent for cooking/baking, canning, cake decorating, knitting/crocheting/sewing and Christmas decorating outdoors for the neighbours to enjoy. She was constantly doing things for others, always one of the first to lend a hand. Evelyns love for her family came above all else. Evelyn leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 37 years Harry; daughter Jacquie (Carl) stepson Tim (Diana) two granddaughters; one great-grandson and grandson Shea; sisters, Elsie (Ogle) and Frieda; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by five brothers and baby daughter Sharon. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 19 at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., Aubrey Street entrance. Pallbearers will be Messers Ken Jensen, Dennis Larke, Allan Smeall, David Doerksen, Corey Bachinsky and Philip Simmons. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the 5th floor nurses, especially Val, Janelle and Heather as well as Dr. Mallik. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Crohns and Colitis Foundation of Canada, 600 - 60 St. Clair Ave. East, Toronto, ON M4T 1N5. Evelyn was loved by so many. She will be sorely missed.
