ETHELWYN SMITH

ETHELWYN PEARL SMITH (nee MUNRO) After a brief illness, the family sadly announces the peaceful passing of Ethel, on Thursday, December 30, 2004, at the age of 90 years. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Joseph, of 66 years of marriage; daughter Joan Balbon (Dennis Checkley); grandson Jay Balbon; brother Jack Munro (Bernice); sister Marge Hamilton; sisters-in-law, Eileen Munro, Mary Mason and Bernice Moss; nieces, nephews and extended family members. Ethel was predeceased by her parents; brother Arnold; and sisters, Margaret, Gladys and Jessie. Ethel lived a very full and rewarding life that included gardening, painting (both house painting and fine art), enjoyed travelling to various locations and was extremely proud of her rich heritage and her family (especially her grandson Jay, who was always the apple-of-her-eye). Ethel and Joe always made their home a comfortable place for their many friends and family to visit and visitors were always made welcome. In observance with Ethel's wishes, a private family funeral service was held Friday, January 7. After living in Warren, MB for most of her life, Ethel was very pleased to have made her new home at the Golden Links Lodge. Our family would like to extend their appreciation to all the staff at the Golden Links for their ongoing compassion, care and kindness, both during and after the period of Ethel's stay with them.
