JAMES HENRY WOODS It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Jim on Friday, June 17, 2005 at the Grace Hospital; two days shy of his 60th birthday. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Leslie and Mary, and his infant brother Allen. Jim leaves to mourn his loving wife Joyce; son Allen; daughter Jaime (fiance Scott); and brother Ken (Doreen and their son Chris). He will also be deeply missed by his extended family, friends, and his puppy Livy. Jim was born in Ste. Rose du Lac, MB. In 1958 Jim's father purchased a ranch in Meadow Portage, MB, and moved his family there. Jim took his elementary schooling in Spence Lake and then attended high school in Rorketon, MB, where he graduated in 1963. The following year Jim attended teachers college in Winnipeg. He then taught at several country schools in the Rorketon area before moving to Thompson, MB, where he spent the majority of his life. In Thompson, he worked at INCO, Lambair, Jim's Cycle, Bowman Distribution, and Sherry's Real Estate. He then began his own successful business in Winnipeg. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 23 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, or the Diabetes Foundation.
