VERA MAY WINIFRED MANN (nee HUMPHREYS) December 30, 1928 - October 2, 2005 Surrounded by love, Vera passed away with peace and blessings at St. Boniface Hospital. Forever in our hearts she leaves her strength and love with her children, Victor, Josanne (Dave), Matthew (Brenda), Lisa, Jacqueline (Tim), Michelle (Colin); and her grandchildren, Regan (Amber), Jeffrey, Caitlan, Michael, Curtis, Graeme, Jocelyn, Brendan, Morgan, Quinn, Mary and Matthew; and great-grandchildren, Allison and Jonathon. Vera leaves many family and friends whom she respected and loved dearly. Vera was predeceased by her husband Matthew in 1982. A strong and loving wife, she showed great courage in the loss of her husband. Vera lived her life with spirit, strength and humour that infused every aspect of her being. Vera took great pride in her six children, never missing an opportunity to love, enjoy and guide them. Those who met Vera during her journey will always appreciate her gifts. MISS ME BUT LET ME GO When I come to the end of the road, And the sun has set for me I want no rites in a gloom filled room, Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little, but not too long, And not with your head bowed low, Remember the love we once shared, Miss me but let me go. For this is a journey we must all take, And each must go alone, It's part of the Master's plan, A step on the road to home, So when you are lonely and sick at heart, Go to the friends we know, And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds, Miss me but let me go. Funeral liturgy will be held Friday, October 7 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 820 Cottonwood Rd. Reception immediately following, at the Winnipeg Squash Club, 275 Stradbrook St. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
